In 2009 the Maple Glen Community Association…

Increased membership numbers for the 3rd consecutive year
…the goal for 2010 is active 60 members!

Held 3 successful community mixers
…and more planned for next year

Donated funds to 2 local charities
…and ongoing fund raisings and charitable relationships are being established

Upgraded the association website – www.mapleglen.org
…more enhancements on the way

Produced an updated membership directory
…and will again in 2010… deadline is Jan 31 for dues

Maintained communication with area politicians
…through our political forum event and specific events… more to come

Planned events moving into 2010
…community expo in Feb, community mixer in April, and more

Held 10 general meetings with strong attendance and participation

Marple Clemens Real Estate

5/21/2009 - Marple-Clemens Real Estate and Rental Management Company is still operating at their original location, 860 Welsh Road, Maple Glen where they have been for many years, contrary to a misunderstanding that they had closed.

Maple Glen Post Office

3/27/2009 | MGCA was instrumental in having the post office install a mail box in Maple Glen. That mail box is still out in front of the bank, and with the decision not to go ahead with construction of an office convenient to local residents, it is important for us to use this facility to post letters. - Gene Pressler

3/27/2009 | The Post Office is no longer looking for a site for a post office to replace the offices recently closed in Maple Glen and Dresher. Citing budget cuts, post office officials have abandoned their search for space. - Gene Pressler

1/18/2008 | After much effort by the MGCA, spearheaded by members Gene and Maripat Presslerand cooperation from Rep Allyson Schwartz's office and Willow Financial Bank, the US Postal Service has installed a mail box in the Maple Glen triangle. The box is located on the Willow Financial property near the corner of Welsh and Norristown Rds. This box is an asset to the community. The Postal Service has advised us that they will be monitoring the usage of this box and may remove it if the volume doesn't justify its placement.- Gene Pressler

Gisondi Sunoco Station/Citizens Bank

3/27/2009 | Construction is on hold for a new Citizen's Bank on the location of the former Gisondi Sunoco Station at Welsh and Norristown Rds. - Gene Pressler

Texaco / TD Bank

3/27/2009 | Conctruction of a new TD Bank branch on the site of the former Texaco Station at Limekiln Pike and Welsh Rd is on hold. - Gene Pressler
